Thank you to all of the PAF alumni and friends who joined current PAFs and PAFamily members Keith and Pam Ferris, to cheer on the GW gymnastics team at the 9th annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational on January 17th. The GW gymnastics team won its fourth straight Lindsey Ferris invitational, defeating Temple, UNC, Cornell, and Penn.

The annual invitational is an opportunity to reflect on the life and legacy of PAF alumna Lindsey Ferris, CCAS BA ’01 MA ‘03 who is remembered by teammates and fellow PAF alums as a crucial part to both programs, always carrying a positive attitude and pushing those around her to achieve more. PAF alumna Sarah (Marquis) Ladislaw, ESIA BA ’01 MA ’03, celebrated Lindsey’s legacy by sharing anecdotes about Lindsey’s intensity, commitment, and mindfulness. Sarah shared how we can all still learn lessons from Lindsey by dismissing the desire to have “pity parties” and consistently facing challenges with a positive attitude.

During the reception, Director of Athletics and Recreation Patrick Nero touched upon the ongoing relationship between GW Athletics and the PAF programming, highlighting the importance of attitude to both groups. We look forward to continuing our relationship with GW Athletics and the Lindsey Ferris Invitational in the years to come.
