Apply to be a Presidential Fellow!

The application instructions for the Presidential Fellowship 2018-20 are now available hereApplications are due through Handshake* (job number 996370) at by Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:59pm EDT; late applications will not be accepted.  Two letters of recommendation are due according to the information specified in the application instructions linked above by Friday, October 27, 2017 at 12pm EDT.

The current minimum requirements to be considered for the Presidential Fellowship are as follows:

  • Undergraduate GW senior graduating in fall 2017 or spring 2018
  • In good academic and disciplinary standing with the university
  • Completed at least 55 credits in residence at GW by the end of the fall 2017 semester
  • A minimum 3.25 cumulative GW GPA by the end of the fall 2017 semester
  • Admitted into and starting in a GW master's degree program in fall 2018 before accepting the Presidential Fellowship opportunity

Students completing combined 5-year bachelor’s/master’s degree programs are eligible for the Presidential Fellowship program so long as they are willing to fulfill the two-year, full-time Presidential Fellowship program commitment by extending the scheduled completion of their master’s degree program and/or pursuing a graduate certificate in addition to their master’s degree.  However, Law (JD/LLM) and Medical School (MD) students are not eligible for the Presidential Fellowship program. 

Presidential Fellowship applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one of the following information sessions:

  • Wednesday, September 13, 7pm, MSSC 209
  • Monday, September 18, 5pm, Marvin Center 311
  • Tuesday, September 26, 7pm, Marvin Center 311
  • Thursday, October 5, 5pm, District House B207
  • Friday, October 13, 1 pm, MSSC 209
