Presidential fellow Markella Lanara hosted another tremendously successful community-building event, titled Paint & Pizza Night! The event allowed students to take a break, engage in a creative activity, mingle with one another, and enjoy free pizza. More than a 100 students attended the event, creating a vibrant energy filled with laughter, conversation, and art!
Students shared their enthusiasm about this event on the feedback form, with one student saying, "It was fun to paint and hang out with friends, also to get to know people from other programs!" When asked about their favorite part of this event, another student said, "meeting new people and not being on my phone- genuine social interaction," and another said, "Just taking my mind off things and meeting people."
A dozen other students shared similar feedback, reflecting how impactful the fellows' events are at creating a sense of community and belonging among GWU graduate students. Presidential fellows Grace Allread and Nina Balandina also provided valuable help on the day of the event.
