In July 2015, Drake’s song “Hotline Bling” took the internet by storm. The artist’s minimalistic, pastel aesthetic, accompanied by his freestyle-interpretive dance, was quickly overrun by the internet trolls of the world. Tweens near and far transformed Drake’s alternative dance moves into memes and GIFs of epic proportions.
Months later, D.C. streets were overrun by Drake Halloween costumes and ‘Hotline Bling Girls’ who attempted to match the artist’s style. But, no parody could match that of Dean of Students and PAF Program Administrative Advisor Peter Konwerski, whose smooth moves impressed Twitter users near and far.
