Khadija's Busy Summer

September 15, 2014

This past summer, I worked as a research intern with Russell Reynolds Associates, a private executive search consulting firm. I worked primarily in the Higher Education practice, conducting research and providing market intelligence in the preliminary stages of higher education executive searches. This role required an in-depth understanding of higher education administration, university structure, best practices, and administrative operations. I left my internship feeling well prepared for my current PAF placement in the Office of the President.

In addition to working, PAF gave me the opportunity to take a 1-credit summer course to get a head start on my program. The course was entitled "Cross-Sector Collaboration and Governance," and served as a valuable introduction to my field of study.

One highlight of my summer was attending the GW Board of Trustees Leadership Retreat at the Washington Harbor in June, where the university launched the historic Campaign for GW to raise $1 Billion over the next four years. It was incredible to take part in such a pivotal moment in the university's history, and to take some great photos with my fellow PAFs at the event! I look forward to seeing the incredible things to come for GW and our students!
