Lunch with President LeBlanc

February 4, 2018

Last semester, The George Washington University inaugurated its 17th President, Thomas LeBlanc. In addition to the reception at F Street House during Spring Training, the current Presidential Fellows have had the honor and privilege to welcome him into the GW community and to engage with him on a number of occasions. To kickoff the new year and as part of a day when The Washington Post shadowed the President, we had the opportunity to have lunch with Dr. LeBlanc and talk about a number of issues about which the Presidential Fellows, and the GW community alike, care.

The conversation included a variety of topics, from rising tuition costs to campus culture, as well as some of the things that have surprised President LeBlanc since arriving at GW. Amongst this list was the diversity of the food scene in Foggy Bottom alone and just how different an urban campus operates. The Presidential Fellows are excited to continue sharing our GW experiences with President LeBlanc, working alongside the President, and helping advance GW's shared ambition of becoming a pre-eminent global research institution.
