This summer, I was a Performance Improvement Intern for Inova Health System in Alexandria, Virginia. During my first year as a PAF, I attended an event at President Knapp’s F Street House, where I met GW alumna, Deneen Richmond, who told me about the internship. I worked with the Performance Improvement team to empower improve processes so staff could better provide anticipatory, personalized, and high-quality care to their patients.
I also had the opportunity to serve for 10 days in Lucknow, India through my church in DC. We offered support for a youth summer camp through the church for youth who live in rural villages. I’m looking forward to applying some of the experience I gained at my internship to my coursework and placement this year.
