In collaboration with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and GW Libraries and Academic Innovation, the fellows hosted their first research-focused event, “Work with Data: Research Support at GW.”
The webinar featured four data specialists from GW Libraries and Academic Innovation, who provided an overview of the services and resources available to graduate students conducting research. Attendees were engaged and eager to ask follow-up questions, highlighting the high level of interest in these valuable tools. This event marked the first initiative addressing the research component of the fellows’ GW Graduate Experience & Research Network Initiative, the proposal that earned them $11,500 in funding earlier this year.
Current fellow Markella Lanara played a key role in organizing and promoting the event alongside Hillary Hughes from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. On the day of the webinar, Markella also served as the moderator, guiding the discussion and facilitating questions from attendees. More research-focused events will be organized in Spring 2026.
