PAF ’16 and ’17 Cohorts Reach 100% Giving

February 24, 2016

In December 2015, the ’16 and ’17 PAF cohorts challenged themselves to reach a goal of 100% philanthropic giving to GW. We are proud to announce that we met our goal as of the end of January 2016. This academic year, the fellows have continued a long-held PAF tradition of service to the university. Not only have we actively participated in a series of volunteer initiatives, but we also showed our appreciation for the university through our philanthropic support.

To enhance academics, to support the student experience, and to encourage innovation, GW launched the Making History Campaign in July 2011 to raise $1 billion to support the realization of Vision 2021 (GW’s strategic plan). At GW, tuition only funds 70% of a student’s education. The university relies on philanthropic contributions to not only ensure the hiring of high quality faculty, but also a vibrant campus.

Our PAF alumni have generously supported the university, and their contributions have had a direct impact on the PAF program. In fact, the PAF Professional and Academic Development Fund (supported by alumni contributions) has funded four PAFs in their academic and professional interests during the 2015-16 academic year, making it possible for them to attend conferences and trainings and participate in study abroad! We are happy to share in the generosity of our alumni, and show our support for the University as it continues to strive toward this ambitious fundraising goal.

We hope that you will share in this experience and consider supporting the growth of the Professional and Academic Development Fund, which also assists GW in reaching the $1 billion goal of the Making History Campaign by 2018!
