Melinda Gates once said: “If you are successful, it is because somewhere, sometime, someone gave you a life or an idea that started you in the right direction.” As PAFs, we are fortunate to not only be part of a cohort with fellow PAFellows, but to also be surrounded by a wonderful network of individuals that are always there supporting our success. One such an individual is a member of our PAF Advising Team (PAT), Anna Mahalak. She could be described as the “Google search engine” of the PAT because no matter what question one might have, you can always count on Anna to provide an answer, “how to” instructions, or to connect you to the right resource.
One of the strongest pillars of PAF professional development is the competency model. Anna has helped reinforce competency instructions as she has been a great example of how to “learn on the fly,” “deal with ambiguity,” and “problem solve”. As the newest member of the PAT, Anna had to quickly learn about the program while providing support to the PAFs and Preceptors on key initiatives.
Anna, we are so grateful for all of your support this past year. We will miss you and your cheerful personality! We cannot wait to hear of all your successes in your new position at the United Nations Foundation. Best of luck!
