Providing Googley Support

Current PAF at Google's 2017 Top Contributor Summit in San Jose, California

As a sophomore at GW, I became a Google Student Ambassador and grew very close with the Google brand. That same year, I joined Google's Top Contributor program, a unique opportunity where avid and passionate Google users volunteer to test the latest features and products, as well as provide support to other users worldwide. Users are invited to be part of the program as they gain recognition for quality and useful support. To ensure Top Contributors have the resources they need, Google also organizes the Top Contributor Summit once every other year at its global headquarters, also known as the Googleplex.

This past November, I was able to attend my second Top Contributor Summit as an expert on Allo and Project Fi. At this point, it felt like a family reunion of sorts. I caught up with Top Contributors that I had last seen in 2015 and met new friends, sometimes from as faraway as India. For three days, global Top Contributors gathered at the Googleplex to engage with product teams, participate in user experience studies and, of course, enjoy the plentiful food offered across Google's campuses. For example, with the Project Fi team, our group of Top Contributors were able to talk about user feedback, upcoming product launches that we should expect and where the team wants to take Project Fi. All I can say is that Google is just getting started on making wirelessly connectivity ubiquitous around the world.

My deep interest for communication products, especially the ones that Google have made, is what motivated me to join the program and why I have enjoyed helping new and existing Google users alike across multiple products, such as Project Fi. This is Google's new cellular service that enables a device to connect to multiple networks — Google will choose the best connection for you at any specific moment. And, in more than 135 countries, Project Fi just works. There are no roaming fees. Throughout my time abroad, Project Fi enabled me to seamlessly stay connected in cities like Dublin, London and Milan. My real-life experiences have enabled me to provide useful support to users. I am excited to continue having a positive impact on the experiences Google users have around the world.
