Recruitment Underway for the Next Cohort of PAFs

September 27, 2016

PAF Info Session
Earlier this month, we kicked off our efforts to recruit the 2017-19 cohort of Presidential Administrative Fellows. Current fellows are once again facilitating information sessions leading up to the application deadline of Friday, October 14th. These sessions serve as crucial opportunities for potential applicants to meet with current fellows and ask questions.

In recent years, we have received upwards of 70 applications to fill five to six spots for the incoming cohort. The application process entails three rounds designed to assess candidates on a variety of criteria. While the Recruitment Committee manages the outreach process to students, staff, and faculty, the Selection Committee coordinates the process after the applications have been received.

PAF alumni are invited to support the recruitment and selection of the 2017-19 cohort in two important ways:

1. Encourage outstanding seniors to apply.  You can direct them to the application instructions and/or nominate them so the Recruitment Committee can follow-up to encourage their interest. Also consider writing one of the required letters of recommendation if you know the student well.

2. Participate in the First or Second Round selection process.

  • Similar to previous years, the first round will involve reviewing and evaluating application materials using a web-based rubric/evaluation form as a "paper cut" between Friday, October 21 and Friday, October 28. The first round is a virtual process so can be completed anywhere you have internet access!

  • The second round will involve participating in interviews in the Marvin Center with PAF candidates along with other PAF alumni, current PAFs, and/or GW faculty and staff between Wednesday, November 9 and Friday, November 18.

  • Please complete this form by Monday, October 10 to indicate your interest in participating in the selection process.  We will then follow-up with additional information during the week of October 17.
