A Letter to Alumni

Alumni engagement as of April 2018

Dear Presidential Fellow alumni,

The 2017-2018 academic year has already been quite eventful for the Presidential Fellowship! From welcoming President LeBlanc, to selecting the 2018-2020 cohort with involvement from many of you, to even updating the name of the program to reinforce its prestige and our connection with the president. The fellows are continuing to push ourselves to become the most preeminent fellowship at GW. Many goals of the fellows have been successfully planned, executed and fulfilled in this academic year, but one goal remains.

We need your help to fulfill one of our top 2017-2018 goals: engaging at least 75% of Presidential Fellow alumni with the program and the university and having at least 50% of alumni Fellows make philanthropic gifts to GW, up from the record levels of 70% engagement and 46% giving last year. Your engagement with the program helps the current cohort to learn and grow professionally and helps set the benchmark for strong alumni engagement in the future. Your philanthropic support of any amount to any area of the university about which you re most passionate helps GW continue to support current and future cohorts while signaling a strong Presidential Fellow commitment to GW for university leadership.  See the “Get Involved” section for several upcoming opportunities to connect with the current fellows and the program.

To reach our goal by the Commencement Reception on Friday, May 18th, we created a dashboard to display this year’s cohort giving and engagement rates. In addition to the dashboard, we identified a “Cohort Champion” who will be rallying your class to engage with the fellowship before the academic year ends. We will announce the top giving and engagement cohort(s) at the Commencement Reception this year to celebrate our newest milestones.

We look forward to continuing to work with you all to achieve these goals. May the best cohort “win”!

The Presidential Fellows
