At Spring Training we discussed how to effectively manage up. Following the 70/20/10 model, which posits that professional development takes place through 70% personal experiences, 20% learning from others, and 10% direct education, the training included a brief presentation, simulations, and small group discussions.

The PAF Program is excited to welcome Mae Cooper as our new Professional Development Advisor, joining Toby Davidow and the rest of the PAF Advising Team in guiding the career and professional development activities for fellows. Although we are excited welcome Mae, it is a bittersweet moment, as we bid “farewell” to Sara Melita who served as the founding Professional Development Advisor for the PAF program.

On Saturday, January 14th the PAFs gathered to enjoy an afternoon of gymnastics and celebrate the memory of Lindsey Ferris, CCAS BA ‘01 MA ‘03. Now in its 10th year, GW Athletics hosts the Lindsey Ferris Invitational to honor Lindsey’s legacy. GW Gymnastics won the Invitational for the fifth year in a row!

PAFs Volunteer on MLK Day of Service

More than 600 GW students, faculty, alumni, community members and staff – including the PAFs—volunteered at 12 sites around D.C. as part of the university’s annual day of service honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 16th. The Day of Service, organized by the GW Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service, kicked off King Week: a week long itinerary of service events hosted in Dr. King’s honor, organized by the Multicultural Student Services Center.
